Business Training Center continues to promote greater participation of women in technical and green skills training as part of its commitment to building a more inclusive and climate-resilient workforce in Dominica.

Women now represent 52.3% of participants in BTC’s Green Skills Programme, showing growing interest and participation in areas where women have traditionally been underrepresented.

Through training in Solar & Thermal Energy Systems, Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC), and Land Surveying & Cost Estimation, women are gaining practical skills that can open new economic opportunities while contributing to Dominica’s climate-resilient future.

Increasing women’s participation in these fields means more skilled people are available to support resilient infrastructure, sustainable energy, and stronger communities across Dominica.

BTC believes that empowering women through technical education is an important part of creating a workforce that is skilled, inclusive and prepared to respond to the challenges of a changing climate.

This initiative forms part of BTC’s Green Skills Programme, funded by the Government of Canada through the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI).
