Business Training Center has been in existence since June 1997.  It was registered as a Private Company on February 7, 2000.

BTC adopts a future-focused approach to the allocation of resources to facilitate the development of high-quality, industry-aligned higher education programs, applied research initiatives and profitable commercial enterprises in priority areas for national development that are reflected in BTC’s mission.

Involvement in Community

Development Activities

Every year, we speak to hundreds of primary and secondary school students on career choices as it relates to the business world, and how they must prepare themselves for careers in the real world. 

To date we have spoken to students at all secondary schools in Dominica.   BTC gives low cost computer and business training to various community groups in Dominica.

We are also instituting policies to support the development of a transformative culture of lifelong learning that stimulates the intellectual capacity of students, faculty, staff and all stakeholders to create opportunities for personal and professional growth; success; and meaningful contribution to national development.

BTC will strive to demonstrate its commitment to quality by maintaining a robust internal Quality Management System QMS that is aligned to internationally accepted standards of excellence and by conducting periodic reviews to improve the effectiveness of that system.

Awards & Recognitions

In 2001, our student, Candy Deschamps received the London Chamber of Commerce & Industry Examinations Board (LCCIEB) Silver Medallion Award, achieving top grades worldwide in the “Diploma in Business Administration – Second Level’’.

In June 2004 BTC became the OECS first Microsoft Certified Technical Education Center (MCTEC).

Goals & Objectives

  1. Present students with an opportunity to achieve a quality education in a technical, business, or computer program of their choice.
  2. Prepare students for employment opportunities and equip them with the skills and knowledge required for career advancement;
  3. Provide students with the human relations skills and work habits necessary to function successfully in both their professional and personal lives;
  4. Offer courses within the program of study that highlight history, politics, society, literature, philosophy, culture and tradition

The Business Training Center College, seeks to be increasingly recognized as a school of international standing and leading institution in Dominica and the region for the high quality of our programs, the quality of our graduates and our willingness to meet the needs of our business community.
